I wish I could say I was born and raised in Austin because I love it here. I can’t complain, though.   I was born and raised in northern California, which I also love, and moved to San Diego to attend the University of California at San Diego.  I received a degree in Physiology and Neuroscience without a clue of what to do next.  My initial plan was to become a doctor because I had been sick a lot growing up, spent a lot of time in hospitals, and found I did not like how impersonal doctors were.  So I wanted to be a good one!  I also always had an interest in natural remedies, natural healing methods, and this interest was beginning to creep back up while I was in college.  I knew I wasn’t going to be a doctor, not in the western sense anyway.

I moved to Austin to attend the Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.  I received my Masters degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and practiced, successfully, for five years.  During this time my interest and knowledge in nutrition began to grow and it became another passion of mine.

So where does my love of kids come in?  Well, that’s been ingrained in me for as long as I can remember!  I always say that I have known that I wanted kids since I was five years old.  That’s the earliest I can remember, anyway.  So you can imagine my whole world was turned upside down when my beautiful daughter came into my life.  I never knew how much love I had until I had her.  And I knew I had to share it, not only with her, but with as many kids as I could.  It was time for a career change.  I became a nanny and was lucky enough to find a situation where I could bring my daughter and watch two other adorable little ones.

Now it’s time to bring it all together, my love of children and my love of health, and I’m so incredibly excited.  I learned so much from these kiddos that I have looked after; about the development of children, their needs, their wants and about myself and my abilities, including loving patience!

And with that, I want to make some promises to all you parents out there:

            1. I promise to love and adore every child as if they were my own.

            2. I promise to wear workout clothes everyday so that I can dance, get on the floor with them to play and just be silly.

            3.  I promise to teach your children.  I may not be a “teacher”, but I will teach them the importance of loving kindness, respect, manners, and the importance of learning to read, using their words, thinking for themselves, being independent.

            4. I promise to respect all your wishes and address all your concerns.  I’m here for you as much as I’m here for the kids.
